Namakkal is famous for a life-size Hanuman (Anjaneyar) Statue carved out of a single stone in the Anjaneyar Temple. The city lies at the foot of a huge rock, upon which there is a fort. The name Namakkal immediately brings to mind Namakkal Anjaneyar Temple – the temple of Hanuman at Namakkal. The idol of Hanuman is approx. 18 feet in height, and stands under the open sky. Opposite to this shrine is a temple of lord Narasimha which is 40 km from KSRCT.
